Sim Agony!
I’ve mentioned it in the past (had to have, since there’s a tag for it :D), but I’m a bit of a Sims junkie. No, it’s not ’cause I’m a girl and girls like the Sims alone (thank you, moronic male gamer and your snotty privilege!), but Iunno… I’ve just always liked the vast majority of the Sim titles, going back to the first SimCity.
For those of you who are also kind of junky-esque, you know that the open-endedness, ease of cheating, etc tends to make the game pall after a time. That’s why there are a myriad of player-created challenges, to include the best and the original – the Legacy Challenge. This is the one I’m still trying to crack; I’ve never managed to get past the fifth generation. There’s a combination of reasons – boredom, losing the plot, but mainly, the problems stem from the game itself.
I don’t know why Sims 3 is such a ridiculous glitchfest, but it is – take one step wrong, and you’re stuck in the bed, or invisible. Or if you’re like me and you like trying to impregnate the entire town (wha? It’s funny!), the family tree breaks incredibly quickly and you lose track of the family. And yet, masochist me, I keep trying and trying in the face of a game that seems against me. And I guess I’ll try again today – meet Petra Baxter, my 10th? 11th? founder. If I avoid knocking up randoms, don’t travel to the vacation destinations and so forth, then maybe I can actually pull this off… maybe!
*beams optimism*
Oh yes, and follow up on yesterday’s blog – we did celebrate Earth Hour, and we had a fabulous time. We have a radio with a built-in crank generator, so we let that give us some glorious tune-age (in the form of Classic FM). Okay, it had the batteries in, but I figured that we could permit that to be our one tiny fudge. 😉 The little one continued her efforts in figuring out walking and biscuit stealing (the new (?) Choccie Dodgers are quite nice!), and we otherwise conversed and cuddled in the candlelight. The lack of distractions was kind of nice, especially since I’m notoriously bad for having/’needing’ distractions+11. *cough*
Anyways, as for the Sims… I keep debating trying to hook up the mods, but they’re not exactly user friendly. And as one of my best friends is quick and fair to comment – the AwesomeMod community is kind of full of dicks; god forbid you don’t understand everything immediately and dare to waste their precious time with questions. *chuckles* Of course, maybe I am just a bit stupid – I can accept that. I’ll definitely be thinking about modding though while I navigate through this attempt.
And now – off to that. Have a good day, and y’know… you DID remember to change your clocks, right? Right?! Good!
