Question Time
The Murdochs and Rebekah Brooks are scheduled to go before the select committee this afternoon; I look forward to watching this. The Murdochs are scheduled for an hour hence (2:3opm), with Mrs. Brooks to follow up at 3:30pm. My husband and I are betting that she’s going to sing like a little birdie again, but… que sera.

‘Cause really, that covers the recent happenstances better than I could, outside of one amusing-to-me factoid. This is being compared to Watergate because of not only the scale of events, but because the cover-up is causing a bigger backlash than the rest of it (though the rest of it is terrible). And yet, I’ve not seen once instance of Phonegate or Hackinggate or anything of the like… it must be serious if people aren’t trying to big it up (carmageddon, anyone?)
… I spoke too soon. Apparently, people are using the hash tag #hackgate on Twitter; my naivety will be the end of me someday! *laughs*
In more personal news, I’ve received confirmation that my citizenship application has been approved, and am booked in for my ceremony next week on the 28th. Suffices to say, I shall be very happy to have that done and over with… and not only for the fact that we won’t be hemorrhaging money on visa fees and the like anymore. Okay okay, and it’ll be nice to have citizenship in the country where I belong, but that really goes without saying.
And now… I should attempt to get some work done. Have a nice day!
