A Casual Stroll to…
Yesterday was Bilbo and Frodo Bagginses’ birthdays, which means that today is the day of the year that the Fellowship departed for Imladris (Rivendell). To that end, a fundraiser event is being hosted for Child’s Play – check it out:

In addition to being able to give money to this worthwhile project, one can participate in the trek itself! I’ve rolled up a new Hobbit, Pyropa, on the relevant server (Landroval). My husband has also rolled up a character for this walk – meet Hotbo. We definitely will be keeping an eye on the Twitter feed, and hope to join for at least part of it.
For those who haven’t checked out Lord of the Rings Online, I’m going to have to say it’s a completely worthwhile game. It operates on a freemium model – you don’t have to buy anything to play the game. Granted, that means really limited content after level 20-30 (depending on how quickly you grind through quests), but you can either buy further quests from the in-game store for Turbine points, which can be gained via completing deeds in the game itself, or by buying the points. Of course, this could all totally change with the forthcoming Rise of Isengard expansion in less than a week, but yeah… it’s a good game. A year of off and on playing convinced me to finally get back to trying to read the blasted trilogy, and now I’m halfway through! For what it’s worth, that’s pretty awesome in and of itself.
Whatever the case, donate to charity, or come walk, or do both, but whatever the case – have yourselves a good weekend. And if you are in LotRO or thinking of joining LotRO and want people to play with – the husband urges me to invite people to hang out with us on our mains on Vilya! 😉
Thank you so much for helping spread the word of our little walk!
I’m glad to, and hope to be there for part of it! Not sure if that’ll be the case tonight, since… 8pm server time, the husband said? I know I saw it, and then promptly forgot.
