A Bit of London
This is just a quick digest on the London camp; I figure it should be sufficient so I can get back to slacking off on a Sunday. Well, and waiting for our guest to pop by, tee hee!
St Paul’s camp: Occupy London is ‘tourist attraction’

There are obviously claims both ways as to how many protesters there are, and what impact they have on the local environment and trade. All I know is that everyone *I* know that goes down reports no damage to business, no obstruction of the church proper, and that everyone is polite and interesting/interested. But since they’re obviously not taking the hint to move, this came up:
Bishop of London offers debate with Occupy protesters if they disband
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/oct/27/bishop-london-debate-occupy-protesters
Which nobody bought, hence:
St Paul’s protest: legal action is launched
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-15495019
Makes one wonder just how bad it’s all going to be. After all, two prominent members of staff have now resigned, and other people within the Church are speaking out:
Bishop of Buckingham attacks St Paul’s Cathedral closure
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-15505588
While I wouldn’t necessarily call that pro-protester, I would say it’s a pretty clear call of ‘Dumbass’ for the knee-jerk closure of the cathedral. At least the Bishop of London is finally deigning to go amongst the protesters and talk, so that’s…. something.
Anyhoos, that’s enough for now. Have yourselves a nice Sunday, and if you’re in the UK – you remembered to change your clocks, right? Good!
