Waiting for…
Snow, of course!
This weekend, it is pretty much guaranteed to snow. The weather is freezing at best, and mega-freezing at worst, and – you can already see it creeping across the map (I love the map, hence the boldeninging… ing). And to me, if you’re going to have to suffer through freezing weather, then it goes to follow that there should be snow. That’s Texan logic, at least – it would, at best, snow once a year in North Texas, where I grew up. And what we called snow was usually sleet or ice pellets; you can’t really make a snow man with those. But lo, the roads were iced over and there was whiteness, so it had to count for something!
So yes, I grew up with almost no snow, ever. The first time I honestly remember a REAL snowfall was the day after my 21st birthday; I woke up wondering if someone had slipped a hallucinogen into my drinks the night before. And while climate change means that the DFW metroplex are getting a swathe of near-blizzards in recent years, growing up with the lack keeps me an eternal kid for the white stuff. In fact, I consider it a trade-off – I don’t get proper thunderstorms any more, so Mother Nature obviously owes me for taking away one of my favorites. It’s silly non-logic, I know, but when does logic apply to child-like pleasures? Those are to be cherished always, for they hold our sense of wonder and amazement at the world. That, mes amis, keeps us younger than all the booze and drugs and escapism in the world. 😉
Back to watching the map, and waiting with a smile on my face.

Aww… I wanted snow this year! *grins* Alas, doesn’t look like I’ll get my wish this time around.
Boo, that is sad. I thought you guys had! Whelp, if you can hop on a transporter quick quick, we’ve got a goodly pile that will demand playing with later today. 😉
Not down here in Georgia, anyway… *grins* I’m glad to hear you’re having fun with it, though!
