That Pleasant Grind
Outside of some skirmishes with racing thoughts, things continue to be pleasantly neutral. I’m not doing much, mind – I’m planning a party for a month hence, and doing my Monday checklist. I’m revelling in enjoyment of things, and the blessed blockade of natural light (we bought blackout curtains for our lounge finally; I am not sun dazzled all day now!). It’s little banalities filling up my time, but I don’t mind. It doesn’t make for good copy I admit, but it makes for good sanity. Sanity is something to treasure and love in this increasingly insane world!
Still, the fight for global sanity rages on with the reblossoming of the Occupy movement:
As May Day Protests Are Planned, Will Wall Street Be Re-Occupied?

As the weather continues to warm up (well, when the rain stops here – deluge it has been!), it comes as no surprise that the Occupy movement are working on their next global wave of events. I don’t think the camping thing will get to take root again, but people are going to be more inclined to spend time outside protesting if the weather is nicer. I expect that tomorrow will bring many interesting results, and I can only hope the incredibly probable draconian violence against protesters will serve to incense more people into joining in. I also hope it doesn’t go so far as the riots we had last year in the UK, but it wouldn’t surprise me either. Things continue to get worse with the government bullying the mentally ill out of benefits, strapping missles onto peoples’ homes, and the Met/government threatening to bring in water cannons to assault mainly peaceful protesters. In the US, we have 10 year jail sentences for protesting at the ‘wrong’ places, CISPA going through Congress, not to mention the NDAA permitting permanent incarceration of US citizens for no reason or the increased militarization of the even rural US police forces! It’s a scary dangerous insane world, and it can and should be pinned firmly on the governments peddling hate and fear in the hopes of controlling their citizenry.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Until tomorrow then, and all that it brings.
